Zoom's phone business grew out of its meetings dominance, and that origin still shapes who it fits best: organizations that already run on Zoom meetings and want telephony that simply joins the platform they know. Zoom Phone is a genuinely capable cloud phone system, deployment is among the fastest in the category, and the pricing is the most aggressive of any major provider, especially in Workplace bundles where phone, meetings, whiteboard, and the AI Companion assistant land at a price rivals struggle to match. Including AI features in the base price rather than as a paid add on has aged well as competitors monetized theirs. The honest limits: phone feature depth trails the longest tenured platforms, and complex multi site telephony, intricate call routing, or heavy compliance requirements can outgrow it. For the large population of businesses whose phone needs are real but not exotic, Zoom's combination of price, simplicity, and a user experience employees already like is hard to argue with.
