How we make money

The model, plainly:

• When a buyer we advised becomes a customer of a supplier, that supplier pays us a referral commission at its standard rate.
• The rates do not vary with our recommendations. We are paid the same regardless of which supplier you choose, which is why our advice can include "don't buy this."
• Buyers never pay us anything. Not for advice, quotes, demos, or negotiation.

Suppliers fund this commission whether you buy direct or through us; it is part of their standard cost of sale. Buying through us does not raise your price, and because suppliers know they are being compared, they often quote sharper.

Rankings and verdicts on this site are editorial judgment under our written methodology. Suppliers cannot pay for placement, and no supplier sees your details until you ask us to pull quotes.
