Vodafone Business

The largest IoT connectivity provider outside China, now a standalone company inside the group; the steadiest counterparty for multinational fleets.
Best for: multinational device fleets
Vodafone's IoT business, carved out in 2024 as a standalone company called Vodafone IoT, connects on the order of two hundred million devices, more than any provider in this market outside China, and has held a Leaders position in Gartner's managed IoT connectivity evaluation for twelve consecutive years. For a multinational deploying devices across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, the value is a single global agreement, one management platform, and a counterparty whose scale guarantees it will still be here when the fleet is. Its US organization sells exactly that proposition to American headquarters running global operations; there is no Vodafone consumer network in the US, and none is needed for the IoT offer. Two fit notes belong in the record. A US only deployment gains little from global scale it will not use and should look at the domestic entries on our list first. And the carve out structure means ownership of the IoT company could evolve, since the group has been open about inviting outside investment; that is a watch item, not a warning.

Why use an advisor
- One conversation instead of five vendor sales processes.
- You buy directly from the provider you choose, at the same or better pricing: providers quote sharper when they know the whole market is being compared.
- Advice that includes "don't buy this," because we have no stake in which provider wins.
- Coverage of the whole market, including providers you've never heard of.
- Provider claims checked against what advisors see across live quotes, not against brochures.
