Flexential does not publish a price list. Colocation is quoted per cabinet or per committed kilowatt, cross connects and bandwidth are line items on top, and the whole thing is negotiated against a list price the public never sees. What the public can see is more useful than a brochure: two government contracts with Flexential quotes attached line by line, the company's own remote hands rate sheet, and a run of promotional offers that state their discounts in plain percentages. Read together with the analyst rate surveys for its markets, they put real numbers on a Flexential bill. What you will actually pay
| What is priced | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Half cabinet | $625 /mo + $775 setup | 20 rack units with one redundant 20 amp 120 volt circuit |
| Committed power, caged | about $200 /kW/mo all in | 99 kW commit with cage space, twelve redundant circuits, and badge plus biometric access |
| Carrier cross connect, fiber | $225 /mo + $225 setup | One fiber link to a carrier inside the building |
| Transport port and cross connect, 1 Gbps | $150 /mo | Network port plus the cross connect to reach a carrier or partner |
| Burstable internet | $5.25 /Mbps/mo | 95th percentile billing; a 100 Mbps commit is $525 a month |
| IPv4 block, /28 | $30 /mo | Sixteen addresses with a VLAN |
| Remote hands, ad hoc | $200 /hr | One hour minimum per event, then 15 minute increments |
The cage figure deserves a sentence. The contract priced 99 committed kilowatts with the cage, the circuits, and the security hardware as one package at about $20,000 a month, with a second clause confirming the power was all in with no metered pass through. That works out to roughly $200 per committed kilowatt a month in 2019 dollars, which is the right order of magnitude to carry into a 2026 conversation: the analyst surveys for Flexential's markets now put retail asking rates between $125 and $210 per kilowatt a month for larger requirements, and above $300 per kilowatt all in for requirements under 250 kilowatts, which is where most cabinet buyers sit.
Flexential's own promotions say how far list moves. Its starter kit and network hub offers advertise 50 percent off list for a single lockable cabinet with up to 5 kilowatts of redundant power and an hour of remote hands a month, on terms of 12 to 36 months. The 2026 version adds zero setup fees in ten named markets, up to two cabinets, and a Fabric port or internet bandwidth as the condition for the free remote hands. Treat those as the floor of what a new customer should accept on a small deployment, not as a special. Procurement benchmark data shows a median Flexential contract under $10,000 a year, which says more about how many customers buy a cabinet or two than about what a cage costs.
What moves the price
- Committed kilowatts versus metered power. Flexential sells both an all in committed kilowatt rate and a model where utility increases pass through to your bill. The committed rate is higher on day one and flat for the term; the pass through model is cheaper until the utility raises rates, and the contract lets Flexential pass that increase on with 30 days' notice.
- Market. The same cabinet quotes differently in Denver, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, and Portland. Analyst asking rates for 2025 ran about $125 to $145 per kilowatt in Denver, $140 to $155 in Atlanta, $130 to $170 in Dallas, $135 to $160 in Portland, and $150 to $210 in Phoenix, and the whole market rose about 6 percent in the year.
- Cross connects and ports. A carrier fiber cross connect at $225 a month and a transport port with its cross connect at $150 a month are small lines that multiply. A deployment touching three carriers, a cloud on ramp, and a second Flexential site can carry more in connectivity than in rack space.
- Bundled services. Flexential's offers pair discounted colocation with cloud, backup, and recovery services, and the contracts we have read discount non colocation services as deeply as 45 percent off list while excluding cross connects, IP addresses, remote hands, and cage security from any discount. The rack gets cheaper when more lands in one agreement; the fee schedule does not.
- Term. Promotional pricing requires 12 to 36 months, the government contract ran 60, and the renewal is where the number moves most, because market rents in Flexential's regions are up more than 50 percent over five years.
Contract factors to watch
- The auto renewal is on the cover sheet. Flexential's standard terms carry an auto renewal provision and an annual price escalation provision, and every quote footer says so. After the initial term, service runs month to month on 60 days' notice unless you sign a renewal, which is the moment a mark to market increase arrives.
- The escalator. The standard paper increases every monthly recurring charge each anniversary. One public buyer negotiated it to 2 percent a year; the commercial default is not published. Ask for the percentage in writing before you ask for anything else.
- Promotional credits are a loan. The free months and waived setup fees come with a clause that repays 100 percent of the credit, plus the early termination fee, if you leave before the term ends.
- Service credits are small and must be claimed. A qualifying outage earns one thirtieth of the monthly charge per day, capped at one month, and only if you request it within ten business days. The power guarantee applies only if you bought redundant circuits, and the cross connect guarantee only if you bought redundant cross connects. One circuit going dark earns nothing.
- Remote hands clock. Ad hoc work is $200 an hour with a one hour minimum per event, and subscription hours do not carry over month to month. Buy the block that matches your real monthly use, not your worst month.
- Leaving has a price. You are billed until your equipment is physically removed, Flexential may relocate or dispose of equipment left more than 90 days, and migration help is billed at standard rates in advance.
The honest summary: Flexential prices like the mid market provider it is, below the flagship interconnection buildings and above the regional operators, with its real edge in the bundle rather than the rack. Its 2026 financing filings show the securitized portfolio about two thirds occupied by space and under half used by power, which means capacity exists and a well specified requirement in its markets should get a serious bid. Exact pricing is quote based. We pull real numbers across Flexential and every serious alternative at once, free, and you sign directly with whichever provider you choose.
