Documo

The self serve challenger: published pricing, an API first platform, and a SOC 2 audit, with HIPAA agreements included on every plan.
Best for: SMB and API driven fax
Documo, which built its reputation as mFax before unifying the brand, is what cloud fax looks like when it is designed like modern software: published plans starting around twenty five dollars a month, a genuinely capable API for software companies embedding fax into their own products, and a platform that runs on its own fax network rather than reselling someone else's. The compliance posture is unusually honest for the mid market: SOC 2 Type II audited annually, HIPAA business associate agreements signed at no extra charge on every plan, and its HITRUST certification stated plainly as still in progress rather than claimed early. Around the fax core it has added electronic signature and intelligent document processing, aimed at the healthcare practices that make up much of its base. The boundaries are those of a venture backed private company: no public financials, a smaller bench than the giants, and enterprise buyers with global volume will find deeper platforms above it. For a small or mid sized business that wants real pricing on a web page and a BAA without a sales cycle, it is the natural first call.

Why use an advisor
- One conversation instead of five vendor sales processes.
- You buy directly from the provider you choose, at the same or better pricing: providers quote sharper when they know the whole market is being compared.
- Advice that includes "don't buy this," because we have no stake in which provider wins.
- Coverage of the whole market, including providers you've never heard of.
- Provider claims checked against what advisors see across live quotes, not against brochures.
