SD-WAN & SASE
Cato Networks

The single vendor SASE the category was named for; one cloud platform instead of a stack.
Best for: replacing MPLS and point security together
Cato Networks built what everyone else is assembling: networking and security as one cloud service, running on its own global private backbone rather than stitched together from acquisitions. A business connects each site and each remote user to the nearest Cato point of presence, and from there the platform handles the routing, the optimization, and the entire security inspection stack in one pass, managed in one console by one policy set. The operational payoff is the point: no appliance sprawl, no version treadmill, and one throat to choke when something misbehaves. It lands best with mid market and enterprise buyers ready to retire MPLS and consolidate point security products in the same project, and with lean teams who want the platform operated for them through a partner. The honest tradeoffs: it is a commitment to one vendor's way of doing everything, so best of breed loyalists will chafe, and very large enterprises with entrenched security stacks tend to phase in rather than switch at once. Pricing is subscription based, per site by bandwidth plus per user for the security services, and is quote shaped at any real size, which rewards pricing the whole project across the market at once.

Why use an advisor
- One conversation instead of five vendor sales processes.
- You buy directly from the provider you choose, at the same or better pricing: providers quote sharper when they know the whole market is being compared.
- Advice that includes "don't buy this," because we have no stake in which provider wins.
- Coverage of the whole market, including providers you've never heard of.
- Provider claims checked against what advisors see across live quotes, not against brochures.
